Christmas

The calendars for 2012 went really well over the holidays :)   I can’t wait to get started shooting for 2013!

The season has been busy with commissions and family and work, hahahaha.  It’s been great though- I can’t believe the weather!  But of course, 2 days after Christmas winter decides to show up full force!  At least that allows for some beautiful photography with fresh snow.

Cards also went very well.  Everyone seems to really love the alternative colours for the card stock…  just adds something a little different.  The packs are sets of 5 and that is the best arrangement so far.

I’m going to have to do some resizing and  configuring  to get the most out of my website space…  Image files take up a lot of space and i’m running out pretty rapidly.  Maybe once I have a day off somewhere.  Archiving my work will be interesting- but will smaller files it will be easier… and load times will be faster- so i’ll be able to update things faster and more often.

Next up for experimentation is more t-shirt designs and other mediums!!  Christmas ornaments and mugs to start!

Happy New year!  It’s going to be interesting!

What can happen at 2 am.

These minatures are each roughly about 2 inches tall.

Polysculpty, acrylic paint, and in the case of the skeletons, various pieces of lace, feathers, ribbon, marker, and jewels.

The evening was a complete success.  It was just as amazing as other years wandering around Toronto at dusk, seeing people pile into several square blocks just to check out some of the newest and most innovated art installations around when the sun goes down and the lights and sounds all change.

To begin the evening off right we had some food and some drinks at the Irish Embassy.  Great little place.

Then it was out into the cold to see some art and shoulder through some people.  A few of the highlights included following glowing candles down the street, drawing 3d images on the side of building, walking down an alley of rain, and yelling at cardboard tubes attached to a lazer light show.  Nothing to get yourself motivated like seeing some incredible out-of-the-box thinking. Not to mention bringing some fantastic friends for another round and some for their first show!

Check out the art pieces here and book your calendar for next year!

And remember to bring your hat and mittens… it was chilly saturday night…

Various shoots from fun brother-sister gifts to wedding shoots to portfolio head shots

This is not necessarily the order in which the rhymes will go, just when I decided to draw them up.  It’s been a long process and a labour of love, but I believe i have come to a place where I am now satisfied with the outcome and will be processing the sketches and preparing to start painting.

Wish me luck!

The Chair Affair

A great concept to help raise money, awareness, and promote yourself!  This is the second year and it’s growing strong.

THE CHAIR AFFAIR

The idea is that any artist can enter- with no discrimination for professional level- and then the chairs are auctioned off at a fantastic gala.  The entrance fee helps to restock the chairs they warehouse for the artists to choose from and pay for rental space, staff, etc so that all auction proceeds go directly to the Home Creation Program.

Check it out.  There’s a tab for last year’s entries- before and after shots of the chairs.  Some of them are really fun!

Most of these are people’s ideas realized onto paper.

A variety of magnets I made out of old bottle caps.

Allo!

There have been more pieces added to various galleries…  the latest being tattoos I have done that i’m particularly proud of.  In addition to that I’m working on getting the arts and crafts section up.  Sometimes it’s fun to work in the third dimension…  and so i have!  I’ll be putting images up of these pieces soon.  That, and i’ll be condensing down my sketches for the children’s book i’m illustrating so that they will be a decent size to load!  Be prepared!

It is late- that is all.

Some pieces i’m proud of!
